On the heels of the Sony C905 announcement, Samsung unveils their first 8-megapixel camera phone. The new phone, on the Internet already known as the model i8510, has been baptized the Samsung innov8, a far from innovative name that will not win any marketing awards (just check Google). The phone is equipped with a 2.8" LCD monitor and GPS technology offers navigation and geo-tagging service. Panasonic introduces the Lumix DMC-LX3 digital camera featuring a F2.0 24mm Leica DC Vario-Summicron lens, 10 megapixels and an ultra-sensitive 1/1.63-inch CCD developed specifically for this model. Sony has released a service notice for the DSC-T20 digital camera. In certain units (serial numbers on Sony's support site), the lens cannot adjust properly due to a mechanical failure in the lens mechanism. When the automatic features of the camera attempt to adjust the lens, the camera body vibrates, preventing it from properly focusing or taking pictures. Samsung Europe expands its budget S-Series digital cameras. The new model S1070 is a 10.2 megapixels camera equipped with a 3x optical (35-105mm at 35mm) zoom lens, a step down from the 5x optical zoom lens on the previous model S1060. Furthermore, the S1070 features an "intelligent" 2.7 inch LCD monitor, which adjusts brightness of the LCD automatically based on the surrounding light.
